112: Suicide Watch, Classroom Chaos, NYC’s Blues, & Phoenix Boys.

Welcome to David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast.

This week on David & Stu Unhinged: disturbing new questions surrounding the Epstein scandal, a Florida classroom confrontation, New York’s fall from the ranks of the world’s great cities, and Phoenix high school students allegedly trafficking weapons to Mexico.

Suicide Watch: The Epstein story refuses to die. A whistleblower tied to allegations involving Howard Lutnick has been found dead from an apparent suicide, reigniting debate over Epstein's powerful connections, suspicious circumstances, and the unanswered questions that have fueled speculation for years. With all these deaths and the failure of the powerful figures involved to offer a full accounting of this scandal, it is no wonder that so many people don't trust the official narratives.

Classroom Chaos: A Florida seventh-grade teacher faces a child-abuse charge after allegedly pulling a student from class by the arm, an account her attorney disputes. Stu explores what the unresolved case says about classroom discipline, parental responsibility, and how teachers can maintain order when disruptions persist, particularly in New York City’s heavily funded but deeply troubled public school system.

NYC’s Blues: Fifteen travel writers named the world’s greatest cities and New York didn’t make the cut. Is it merely a travel-list snub, or another warning that the city is trading on a reputation its leaders have failed to protect? David examines New York’s punishing housing shortage, staggering public-housing repair bill, precarious finances, persistent anti-Jewish hate crimes, and the controversy surrounding Mayor Mamdani’s response. The restaurants, culture, and skyline remain, but how long can New York live off its past while City Hall and Albany fail to confront its present?

Phoenix Boys: Four current or former Phoenix high school students are allegedly trafficking weapons to Mexico, including to the Sinaloa Cartel, in pursuit of money, status and belonging. We will examine how the teenagers evade inspectors, the deadly consequences of the cross-border gun trade and the glaring question hanging over the entire story: where are the parents?
