Welcome to David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast.

This week on David & Stu Unhinged, we cover Stu's eclectic trip to Michigan, the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to Navi Pillay, the tragic school shooting at an Oregon elementary school, and Trump’s bizarre comments on the campaign trail about men’s anatomy.

Travelling Stu: While some people head to Italy, Stu took a trip to Michigan. He will discuss his journey, which included a stop at the National VFW Home in Eaton Rapids, where he attended a special screening of his film, “Vietnam...through my lens,” and got to learn more about the Home’s century-long work helping veterans and their families through difficult times. From there, he headed north to Weidman to spend time with a country veterinarian he has long admired for his skill, courage, integrity, and compassion: “The Incredible Dr. Pol.” Leave it to Stu to take such an eclectic journey.

Hollow Prize: The Nobel Committee’s decision to award the 2026 Peace Prize to Navi Pillay, who led the UN commission that accused Israel of genocide, is troubling. Genocide requires proof of specific intent, and no court has found Israel guilty. Yet the charge is used loosely, while Hamas’s October 7 massacre of roughly 1,200 people is treated as a footnote. Criticizing Israel is not inherently antisemitic, but excusing October 7 or holding Israel to standards applied nowhere else deserves condemnation. A commitment to human rights that disappears when the victims are Jewish was never universal.

Unsung Heroes: We discuss the October 15 shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, which killed three children and a teacher, and the actions of a driver who confronted the gunman and called 911, a teacher who fought him, and a parent who fatally shot him. This incident raises issues of parental accountability based on reports that the 16-year-old’s mother bought the shotgun and gave it to him as a birthday gift. This tragedy certainly calls for stronger laws to hold parents accountable when their negligence enables children to access firearms used in crimes. So far in 2026, there have been over 25 school shootings, which raises further questions about America’s spiritual and moral decline.

Presidential Creepiness: Ten years after the infamous Access Hollywood tape, Trump is still turning political appearances into sexualized comments, and this time they are directed at men’s bodies. Meanwhile, Fox News sycophant Jesse Watters excuses the vulgarity while mocking the Texas Senate Democratic candidate’s masculinity with homophobic insinuations. Under Watters’ reasoning, presidential dignity is optional, while hypocrisy is mandatory, and every crude Trump remark comes with a complimentary permission slip.

We hope you tune in, and please leave comments. We welcome all feedback, including any critiques.
