Viva Italiani, a Nobel Snub, Another Vindictive Purge, Climate Arsonists, & a Field of Dreams

Welcome to 63rd episode of David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast..
In this episode, we will discuss Trump's peace deal in Gaza and how we begrudgingly acknowledge that this is a big achievement. The other topics covered include the following:
1) October is Italian-American Heritage month, and we discuss Italian immigration to the United States that started in the late 19th century and the way Italians were mistreated, including a court ruling holding that Italians aren’t white, mass lynchings, employment discrimination, and internments. Even today, Italians are often portrayed as thugs and murderers, even though Italians set the foundations for Democratic societies and culture, and art.
2) The award of the Nobel Peace Prize to Venezuelan dissident, Maria Corina Machado, and the oppressive government in Venezuela under Nicholas Maduro, who has been running the country into the ground since 2013;
3) One of the highlights of Trump’s second term is his vengeance campaign against his perceived enemies. In one case, he fired a respected prosecutor in the Southern District of New York, Maureen Comey. Being that she happens to be the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out how she lost her job.
4) The LA wildfires in January caused substantial damage and led many leading Democrats like Gavin Newsom, Karen Bass & Bernie Sanders to claim that the fires were caused by climate change. This week, Jonathan Rinderknecht was arrested for starting the fire. So the next time Democrats act superior about their scientific expertise and climate change, we should all ignore their preaching.
5) We will end by revisiting a small town in Iowa, Dyersville, where the movie Field of Dreams was filmed. This place evokes a simpler time before money infected baseball, and the film has had both negative and positive impacts on this town.
