Welcome to David & Stu… Unhinged! As always, we'd like to thank Clara Wang for creating the fantastic artwork for this podcast.

On this 83rd episode of David & Stu Unhinged, we cover the following topics:

1. Last week, Trump and his national security team launched a full-scale attack on Iran in coordination with Israel. Trump and his sycophants are already crowing about the huge success of this operation, particularly since many top-level Iranian officials have been killed, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. However, there seems to be no clear endgame in mind here, and past US interventions in the Middle East have led to quagmires. Trump’s impulsive actions here are partly motivated by revenge and further highlight how unqualified he is to be President.

2. In the case of Jordan Wells v. Meta Platforms, Inc. and ByteDance Ltd., Kristen Wells is suing Meta and ByteDance after her son, Jordan Wells, died subway surfing in New York City. She alleges their platforms' algorithms promoted subway surfing content, contributing to his death. The lawsuit centers on the platforms' responsibility towards minors, free speech, and the "attractive nuisance" doctrine. In light of the issues involved in this case, it is possible it could end up in the U.S. Supreme Court.

3. Punch, a baby Japanese macaque born at the Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan, was abandoned by his mother shortly after birth and had to be hand-raised by zookeepers. To help him cope with isolation and anxiety, keepers gave him a stuffed IKEA orangutan plush toy, which Punch clung to for comfort and security. Over time, with the toy’s support and careful guidance from the zoo staff, Punch gradually began integrating with the other macaques, learning social behaviors and building confidence. His story, shared widely online, has resonated with many for its themes of resilience, emotional support, and overcoming loneliness.

4. The sad tale of Melissa Knutson, a nurse who heartily jumped into bed with her patient on multiple occasions, then accused the patient of assault. The fair Melissa eventually admitted to her fabrication, and is headed to the slammer. We hope she enjoys her time away.
